About Redemptive Plastics Progressive Opening Event

Experience a progressive event where you’ll visit 3 different locations highlighting Redemptive Plastics functional artworks and their ecological benefits. Bringing together art and community to transform plastic from a waste material to a valued community resource.

Stop #1: A valued community partner, we’ll visit the Austin Branch of the Chicago Public Library which serves Austin, West Garfield Park, East Garfield Park, North Lawndale and Near West Side neighborhoods.

Stop #2: Harambee Community Garden, a part of NeighborSpace, located at the corner of Race and Waller on two oversized lots in the Austin neighborhood, consists of an allotment garden and community gathering / performance area which is surrounded by perennial flower beds, shrubs and trees. The site also includes several beehives and hosts goats on its southern portion.

Stop #3: Long time Austin resident, owner and investor, Mr. Floyd has partnered with Redemptive Plastics to host a full-scale activation featuring the public benches, and other functional art created by the project, at his property in the Austin community.
